Bellevue clearly does not self-fund its Council races. These low percentages of resident funding are a concern, especially for James Bible and Holly Zhang. Will Council members protect and listen to the Neighborhoods if most of their backing comes from special interests or outside of Bellevue?

An even greater concern is the number of residents contributing. Whereas there are 78,589 voters in Bellevue, only 621 individual residents contributed to campaigns. Without many residents funding the races, candidates are dependent on other sources. Where will the Candidates' loyalties lie?

For each position, John Stokes, Stephanie Walter, JD Yu, and Jennifer Robertson have captured the support of most residents. First-time Council candidates Barksdale, Walter, and Yu lead in a count of Bellevue resident supporters over incumbents Stokes and Zahn. The overall level of support is clearly unbalanced with Walter having 188 supporters to Zhang's 16.
